| DescriptionThe Field or Corn Poppy (Papaver rhoeas)is an easy to grow annual plant. Growing on slender stems the four petals making up each flower are vivid red, sometimes with a black spot at their base.Because poppies bloomed in much of the Western front in World War I, they have become a symbol to military veterans, especially of that war, and have become associated with wartime remembrance. Plant from February to March. They flower from May to July; deadhead flowers to prolong flowering season. Maximum height is 0.5m and ultimate spread 0.5m. Pack contains about 200 seeds. |
